Wool as a communication device

Deliana Simeonova is a Bulgarian textile artist, felting in the Hudson Valley. With an interest and passion for continuous integration, the idea that materials and art can be in constant interaction, Deliana creates dynamic and animated wool pieces for interiors and exteriors. Deliana’s love of wool as a medium began when she first moved to New York’s Hudson Valley and befriended an ethical farmer in the area. With long-lasting relationships between the producers of her desired material, Deliana fulfills this need for continuous integration through her art. From textural pieces that reflect the flora of the natural world, to pieces communicating the experience of immigration, Deliana uses wool as a communication device. Deliana lives in Barrytown, NY, and creates her wool pieces in her personal studio.
